4.0 out of 5 stars great UI improvement over the Trezor One. Solid community and implementation.
I’ve used a lot of Trezor Ones over the years so I’m really comfortable with the Trezor name and their uses as a hardware wallet. Their reputation is great and the open source nature of their product has set the bar for a lot of competition.
The model T is a marked improvement over the Trezor One. The model T has support for Shamir Secret Sharing which allows you to easily split your recovery seed into multiple parts. The color screen and size also allow for more things to be displayed and verified on the Trezor T. This makes inputs on the device a lot easier than it’s predecessor. i.e. when you are inputting or checking a recovery seed or pin, it is a tedious process on the One and very easy to do on the Model T.
The only downside to the Model T is the price. It seems expensive and the build quality could be better. Something about the plastic casing and shape makes it seem cheap. The small screen in comparison to other products make it also seem cheap. For example, Cobo Vault Pro costs approx $150 and has a much larger touch screen and better overall build construction; look and feel wise. At $165 for the model T, the build quality seems very different.
Would I buy another Model T? If the price point were around $100 I would definitely buy many more model Ts. As it is, with a price point of $165, I have opted to buy other competing hardware wallets, Cobo Vault, ColdCard, etc. as I don’t think the price to value is quite right for the Model T.

Works as its description. A little improvements been added or made to the device would work wonders

As my first cold storage wallet, this worked perfectly on the first try. Smooth, no issues.

Trezor model T is the best hardware wallet!
I got the Trezor and was going to use it with the Exodus Wallet, but I realised Trezor has the Trezor Suite which can be run on Chrome or on a Windows / Mac / Linux app. It supports various coins and supports Bitcoin (Native SegWit) which is the latest version with low transaction fees, your wallet address starts with ‘bc1’. Trezor still has the older Trezor Wallet which does not support Native SegWit for Bitcoin and they will transition to Trezor Suite totally soon. As for 100% total protection you can enable a passphrase or hidden wallet feature where you need to enter an additional passphrase to access your wallet. This way someone has to know your PIN and Passphrase which only you will know to access your wallet. With the Trezor model T you can enter the passphrase on the Trezor and not the browser or app, this way no connection to the internet with a compromised malware affected PC with a keylogger. I love it! You can have many passphrase wallets, each accessible with a different passphrase. Make sure you remember them well as they are case sensitive and there is no way to recover if you forget the passphrase.
Works on android mobile with Chrome, have to connect the Trezor with a USB-C to USB-C cable to the android phone. Works just like on the PC with Chrome or the separate Trezor Suite App.
To recover your wallet with a passphrase incase your Trezor is lost or damaged, I think you will need another Trezor to setup your wallet with the recovery phrase and then load your wallet again with the passphrase.
There is a lot of information on Trezor website about all this. All in all a great device. Nobody can physically hack the Trezor model T and get to your wallet if you have a passphrase wallet. No privacy issues as well where you need to give any details about yourself to Trezor.
I know the Ledger had a privacy breach where database with user information like names, addresses and emails were hacked and stolen. Nothing like that will happen on the Trezor model T. Use it with confidence!

Setup is easy
Just follow the screen(s) to set it up. Transfers etc you may need to know someone who has one to guide you through the process

Doesn’t connect
Product arrived quickly so that’s worth a star. After that, all ones. -13 if I could give it. The instructions say at sept 1. Connect Trezor to your computer or smartphone. The connection cable has a very loose, sloppy fit. (Doesn’t snap in but it lights up) Says welcome! Then tells me to sign into the setup site. There it shows a photo of how the product should look with the hologram. Tells me if it is not the same or damaged, to contact them right away. Well I had to remove it to connect the device as they said in step 1. So now that’s not clear. I replaced it enough to get a semblance of how it was before I removed the hologram and it seemed pretty ok. After getting through that, I went to the setup page where it tells me to select which Trezor I have then it goes to connect device. Clicking the connect tab did not give any results other than say “no device is detected.” After searching the help pages, I got no results. Sent a message to the support desk. They tell me they received my submission but it could take 20 days to respond. (They must have a lot of issues to handle). My daughter warned me to not buy this but to get the Ledger. I should have listened but they were not available on Amazon this was one of their choices… I live where it’s hard to get products of this type so I often use Amazon who does a good job with shipping and delivering to here. I’ll give them time to resolve this. What else can I do? If they fix the problem, I’ll update my report but for now, not happy with this item. Almost afraid to use it now even if they do fix it. This is sensitive stuff right here!!
Attention!! Urgent message. My bad!. I take 80% responsibility for my device not working. I learned through the seller (who, by the way, was excellent at responding to my issue.) They offered me a full refund upon them receiving my returned item. I decided to do what I was afraid to before and force the cable connection on. It when in! and product worked perfectly afterwards. I think it would good if they mentioned that in the instructions. It’s a very tight fit so don’t be afraid to force it in. Mission accomplished and all is well. I like my Trezor now!
Also check you hologram before you rip it off. That step is out of sequence and should be first.

4.0 out of 5 stars Not your keys not your coins. This is a must for crypto hodlers.
I am almost sixty so this device is kind of clunky to use as the key number pad is kind of small for older fat fingers. I will probably switch to a crypto only laptop at some point but for now this is a good investment.

Needed for anyone in crypto
Follow instructions, it’s pretty simple to set up. I have bigger fingers, so entering pin on the unit can be a little tricky, but doable. For the security, it’s absolutely worth it. Model T is the way to go, a little more expensive, but worth having the extra crypto options.

Most importantly it doesn’t work with your iPhone.
I never really expected this thing to not work with an iPhone. Granted, I didn’t read everything about it before I bought it. But I figured it should work with just about anything that you have.
It works with your Mac, it works with a PC, it works with an android phone. But it will not work with an iPhone. Apparently they didn’t develop the software for iOS. Probably Apple‘s fault though. That’s what I would expect.
Still, it’s important to see that this will not work with your iPhone if you have one.

3.0 out of 5 stars Better than Ledger! but you can make this for free…. (if you already have raspberry pi)
So basically, I think this device works very well and it is definitely the better option than Ledger. That said, for it’s functions, it is very cheap feeling and you are basically paying for the free service’s development costs and not the device. This project is open source and if you have a Raspberry Pi Zero (not W or WH, it would defeat the security purpose) and a LCD bonnet/hat, you can make this for absolutely free or just cheaper by a huge margin. In the future, if my Trezor were to die, I’d just coble together a Pi Zero Wallet with one of the metal cases and touch screen LCDs already built-in.
If you have any moderate computer experience, I would say the setup process isn’t bad at all if you have the right cable (and computer/smartphone) and take the time to read about it ahead of time. You never expose your private keys at any point in the process, only your 12 mnemonic word phrase. Even then phrase words only show up on the Trezor not the host PC/Smartphone. I love the fact that you can create secret words/codes in the wallet to create more hidden wallets. If anyone steals your secret phrase words and/or your pin to gain access to the device, they would also have to know the secrets to access your hidden wallets. With the Model T, you never expose this information to the host device so keyloggers can will not be able to see that information on setup and access. The only thing annoying about this whole process is that the Model T needs to be powered by a host device in order to do anything, it has no battery power.
Completing transactions on the Trezor isn’t hard but it certainly isn’t as easy as using a smartphone-based wallet but I wouldn’t expect it to be, you would use a smartphone wallet for daily purchases and your Trezor for holding your vast amount of coins. Most DEXes will be compatible with Trezor through the virtue of also being compatible with MetaMask. You can import NFTs but you cannot send them or sign off on most contract-based transactions because the Trezor team does not currently believe in developing that into Trezor. On one hand, I understand that because the Trezor is supposed to be secure in holding your coins and not a daily driver for transactions. On the other, I know some people think of NFTs as long-term investments.
Although the Trezor Wallet and Suite only support a smaller number of coins/tokens than the competing hardware wallets, being able to connect to third-party wallets allows you access to an almost unlimited amount of coins/tokens than any of the air-gapped or cold storage competition. As I mentioned before, you can access most DEX swap markets with the support of MetaMask. Beyond that, most new coins and tokens that are worth their time have PC-Based hot wallets that are based on something like Electrum, one of the original wallets for Bitcoin from basically a decade ago. Electrum has come a long way and part of their privacy/security measures is integration with hardware wallets like Trezor so you never expose your private keys or make new secret phrases because it already relies on your Trezor to store that information. Something like Monero, it doesn’t exist on the Trezor Suite and they have their own Electrum wallet, so all you have to do to store Monero on Trezor is to load up Monero’s Electrum wallet and use the Trezor for setup. If you can accomplish this, there are very few legitimate coins and tokens that won’t be able to work for you.
Anyway, to sum up my feelings on the Trezor Model T: I love the functionality, but it’s too expensive for the single device. I’ll still continue to use the Trezor wallet in the future but through the functionality of the Raspberry Pi Zero and possibly the Raspberry Pi 4 as the host terminal for the Trezor Suite and Electrum wallets. The next step would be to add a printer to the Pi 4 to print off wallet QR codes and other things since the Trezor Requires a host to function.
