This comes with everything you need to get started, the new Xbox 360 slim, kinect, controller, and just enough memory for all your game saves, apps, and maybe even a few demos and it also comes with a free one month trial of xbox live gold and contrary to popular belief, XBOX LIVE SILVER IS FREE; You just have to pay if you want to upgrade to gold which gives you more perks and exclusives and is required for a lot of apps like NET FLIX or YouTube. The slim model has a whole new design with touch sensitive buttons as apposed to the regular ones and other features like built in wifi and STREAMING CONTENT AND EVEN INTERNET FROM A PC (*WHICH YOU DON’T NEED GOLD TO DO*). IT ALSO LOOSES THE MEMORY CARD SLOTS BUT GAINS A LOT OF USB SLOTS and it allows you to use usb flash drives as an actual memory device if you run out of space but YOU CAN JUST AS EASILY INSTALL A SLIM HARD DRIVE OR EVEN AN OLD XBOX 36O HARD DRIVE AFTER TAKING IT OUT OF IT’S ENCLOSURE,so the 4GB’S OF MEMORY CAN BE EXPANDED, you’re not stuck with it.I ALSO NOTICED THAT GAMES LOAD FASTER than the old consoles and The GRAPHICS ARE SUPPOSE TO BE BETTER THAN PS3’S which I’m not sure of because they haven’t really come out with a game to showcase how much more improved they are but I am certain that THEY HAVE ATLEAST CAUGHT UP WITH PS3’S GRAPHICS. It comes with Kinect Adventures which of course SUCKS and gets boring after 5-10 minutes but the Kinect itself is awsome. It allows you to TALK TO THE SYSTEM and INTERACT WITH IT BOTH INSIDE AND OUTSIDE OF GAMES. You can use it to NAVIGATE THROUGH THE XBOX DASHBOARD and the VOICE CONTROL COMES IN HANDY WHILE WATCHING A MOVIE OR LISTENING TO MUSIC. Kinect is utilized in hardcore games as well as casual games like Dance Central. Kinect USES EVERYTHING,YOUR WHOLE BODY. YOU ARE TRULY THE CONTROLLER AND IT GIVES YOU AN EXPERIENCE THAT NO OTHER PLATFORM CAN OFFER. One thing is for certain…it beats the hell out of the PS MOVE. I still have a lot more to learn about this system but I love it already. The only thing that I think could have made it better would have been 3D or blu-ray but I don’t buy blu ray movies or movies in general anymore anyways and REAL 3D gaming is just a dream for now but overall it’s a great product and a great bundle, I paid $200 for it here on Amazon. -TheQueenE.

Everiting in the box for a good time

Starting off with a tip – if this is delivered, and has been sitting outside in cooler/colder weather, I would recommend holding off plugging it in right away. Give it a chance to ‘warm’ up to the room.
I followed the quick start guide, skipped the network config, and I was playing within 15 minutes – including unboxing! While I was following the above tip, I cleared all furniture and removed the dog toys from the area in front of the Kinect. After that – everything went super fast (I did wait 2 hours for everything to get to warm up just to be safe). I was rafting and having a great time.
No lag. None. Nada.
Game play – totally blew me away. I ran through several levels of about 5 of the adventure games. CAUTION – you may find that you are having so much fun you get winded!
I have not played multiplayer yet, but the dog has tried to help a few times.
The interface took me about 10 minutes to get use to, and I still fumble around a bit, but it is easy to use.
I do have a good amount of space – probably 8 to 9 feet from the front of the Kinect, and it is located about 3 feet off the ground – dead center in front of the TV. It does a good job of alerting you if you are too close or too far from the sensor. Also – watch the ceiling and be REALLY carful if you have a ceiling fan.
Comment on the dog (or cat) – If they walk in the frame, strange things happen. Just expect it. Walk out of the frame and back in from the same side, and it seems to reset.
Time to set up the wireless, download required content, set up media player from my PC, and fix an issue with Xbox live – about 45 minutes. Probably would have been faster if my PC was in the same room.
I did have an issue with connecting to Xbox live – possibly because I did not connect to the network right away. I went out to the forum and found some tips.
To recap – Have enough space. Move furniture and clutter off the floor before you start.
Be prepared to have a fantastic time.
***** Update *****
Still a lot of fun. I have tried the Joy Ride, Your Shape, and Dance Central demos – all cool.
The game does a very good job of letting you know when you are outside the play area.
Regarding lighting, I have experimented playing during the day with the blinds open (lots of sunlight) and no artificial light source, with lots of overhead lights, low level over headlight, table lamps, and no light except from the TV. The only issue I can see is with good overhead lighting, the pictures from adventures seem to look less blurred.
