“Software was easy to set up and it worked right away when the power went out as I was setting up my new PC.”
“I’d give it five stars but its software does not record a power outage unless the computer it is hooked to via USB is actually turned on when the power goes out.”
“This is a fantastic unit, and I’m pleased I upgraded to a more powerful unit – worth the extra cost!”

Does What it should
This review is not technical in the slightest. But I’ll tell you my experience with the product and how it’s worked.
Long story short, it works exactly like I wanted it to. I have my game systems, tv, modem, and router plugged into the “battery” ports and a couple of other things plugged into the surge protector only ports. Since I purchased this UPS, my power has either gone out or flickered a handful of times, and it has worked PERFECTLY. There was not a single blip of power to my PS5, and I was able to stop what I was doing, save, and safely turn off the system. If you have a newer game console, you know that if you turn suddenly cut the power to the system while you are using it or while it is in rest mode, it has the potential to cause major problems. Any time you don’t shut off the PS5 correctly, it has to repair the SSD the next time you turn it on. And if anything happened to be saving when it lost power, you are almost guaranteed to lose that data and possibly ALL of your data (I had this happen and lost 3 hours of gameplay before buying this UPS). You don’t have a significant amount of time depending on how much of a load in on the UPS, but it is definitely enough to safely shut off any sensitive electronics. Operation is simple and setup is even easier.
Overall, I don’t have any complaints about this product and it does exactly what I what I bought it for. To me, the price is very reasonable for what you are getting. Only time will tell if this UPS is as good as I am hoping. Because my biggest concern is battery degradation, and that’s something I won’t know about for some time. Until then: 2 thumbs up.

Different from the picture
I received a different one from the images without a color screen and without USB ports, of course I bought the 1000 VA version

Melted and Overheated
The three-year warranty ran out in March. Tonight I was working in my office when I started smelling a bad chemical burning odor. The unit overheated and melted the housing. We unplugged it and contacted the manufacturer. They just said not to use it bc it’s a hazard. We could drop it off at Best Buy or Home Depot. My son said to bring it outside away from the house bc batteries hold their charge and it’s really difficult to put out a battery fire. Thank goodness we were home and didn’t go to bed with this potential fire hazard!! Who knew?

Too good to bypass
I’d been in need of a whole new UPS, as my smaller 350W ones from 2008 were now no longer charging batteries and would drop the second any type of power issue was detected so grabbing this as its then price of $400 for a 1500VA 1000W UPS was far too good to pass over. I have a 1500VA, 1500W CyberPower UPS for my homelab’s rack, so I’m already a heavy fan of CyberPower.
Pro’s: The unit isn’t too heavy and it’s shallow depth makes it ideal for limited space in a rackmount, and it doesn’t bend the rack up. Ironically, my managed switch puts more of a wow in the rack posts than this unit does. o.O
User interface is generic, simple and easy-to-use. If you’ve used any UPS before then there’s really no need to worry about display settings and how-to’s.
It’s got the new built-in green energy system that when the UPS is charged and not on battery, it auto-bypasses the transformer and reduces energy consumption and waste by 75%.
Unit switches over from utility to battery quickly, quietly and returns to normal just the same.
NO LOUD FANS! In fact, I didn’t even notice let alone hear if there was even fans in this unit which is very nice! So bonus on it being ultra quiet!
Came to me with 92% full charge, so not a lot of time needed to fully charge it before putting it into production.
And last but most important of all: She has that beautiful and wonderful strong fresh/new electronics smell one can’t help but admire and relish. That alone was worth the $400 😉
Cons: Unit says default setting is MUTE when running on battery. They lie! 😉 Easy fix, though!
The screws for the rackmount holes were too small for the back bolts on my rack, and I had to use the screws that came with my rack. You may have different results depending on your rack.

Great device
Works perfectly. I bought this after my last PC died with little explanation. It would be performing well, then for no apparent reason, have what seemed like a complete power loss and reboot. I built this PC myself out of top components but I’ve used it hard for many years and thought the power supply was dying. Then signs of the video card failing appeared, which indicated it was the GPU failing. I decided it was time to replace everything, so went with a brand new ASUS ROG system. However the new system also started having reboots for no reason. I focused on my power supply and found that with summer heat and millions of residents in this city using air conditioners, there were power sags happening. These wide voltage fluctuations were causing my PC to re-boot (and I’m not even 100% convinced the the GPU failure in the old one was age, it might have been the wide power fluctuations which can’t be good for any electronics). What I love most about this UPS, is that it evens out the voltage supplied to my devices. If the line power spikes or surges, it ensure a constant 120 goes to my electronics. The USB connection to the computer provides real-time monitoring and I can see the surprising number of times that the UPS has to step in because the line voltage in my house dropped. Since installing this a few months ago, zero problems with my electronics and it just works perfectly. I’m very happy with it.

IT DOESN’T WORK, THEY DON’T MAKE A RETURN, DON’T RISK IT

I’ve been a CyberPower kind of guy for what must be close to a couple of decades now. I had tried a couple of other brands and settled on this one as being the most trouble-free – set it up and you can pretty much forget that it’s even there.
The pure sine wave is definitely worthwhile; without it you occasionally run across some bit of equipment that doesn’t like being plugged into a UPS. This is my third one; I’ve got one protecting computer equipment, one protecting my network equipment (cable modem, router, network storage), and one for my stereo equipment.
I got my first one of this model right after pure sine wave came on the market. It finally needed a new set of batteries, and it was an extremely minor operation, not in small part due to Amazon carrying the replacement.
I highly recommend CyberPower as a brand and this model as the one to protect your expensive electric doodads!
