UPDATE: I posted my original review quite some time ago, and it has taken quite a bit of frustration for my to come back and edit this. To begin, I will sing a few praises. I like the PS3, it’s graphics, how it works, and the available games (namely GT6). BUT, I have recently had so many problems with this awful console that I am seriously considering abandoning Sony consoles after being a die-hard fan for many, MANY years!
This is because I recently had the PS3 freeze up, and had to turn it off manually. This corrupted the data, and the only way to fix it involved me losing EVERYTHING. So, okay, fine. At least I had gotten back up and running again. I had made it about to the point in the game where I was before, and then a new System Update came out. I tried to update, and — GUESS WHAT? — the data is corrupted again! There is no reason that the console should be having problems like this. My PS2 never did this. So am I going to just lose everything again? I’m attempting a useless system restore right now, but if I can’t fix it without losing everything then I might just go to Xbox, which means a lot considering that I’m a Gran Turismo fan.
Sony made these consoles poorly. No hate on the company that sold me the console. Make your own decision about whether or not you want this — just keep in mind it is not reliable! I have the Super Slim, and in my experience the Fat consoles tend to be better. Still, I don’t think that is currently my problem. Regardless, the system is still restoring after more than 24 hours, so I don’t have much hope.
I still love Playstation, so maybe I won’t give up. I don’t know. Just letting all of you know about my experience so you can make a decision!

PREVIOUS REVIEW:
I bought a white PS3 console from EZCorp – which included the console, cords, and a wireless controller. The product is great. Nice, sleek, and quick at responding. I have been thinking of getting one for ages. I’m always one console behind, so with the PS4 coming out soon I figured it was a good time!
One thing I didn’t realize with the PS3 is the fact that it downloads via the Wi-Fi. Well, I knew it, but it didn’t occur to me how good that Wi-Fi needed to be. IF YOU DO NOT HAVE SUPER HIGH SPEED INTERNET THEN BUY THE GAME DISCS, don’t buy from the Playstation Store. It can take an extremely long time for them to download. I do have high speed, but apparently it’s not fast enough. That’s not the PS3’s fault though – that’s my internet provider. And downloading while it’s wired works better. But if you buy the disc, it does fine since it doesn’t have to deal with a full download.
As for the PS3 itself, it’s great. A nice step up from the PS2 (though I still LOVE that console!).
My seller was amazing. I got the PS3 in two days without paying for two day shipping because my total (with shipping) came out to be $200.70. It was perfect and well packed. I recommend buying from EZCorp if you can – it’s worth it for a decent used item.

Sony needs to pay attention here. They made their fortunes over the years, by making all their hardware backwards compatible, which means, ps3 would play ps1 & ps2 games, that way they not only maintained their current customer base, but also gained new ones that wanted the newest version of the PS. Well those days are over, Sony/PlayStation has made the decision, that will no longer go on!!1 None of your old software will run on the new PS4’s, MMmmm what did we already learn?? Also they made it where you are REQUIRED, to maintain an online account paying monthly, yearly to play your system right. PS3 was better than that, they offered the online experience two ways. You could play with friends for free thru their servers, or if you wanted, you could pay around $50.00 a year, get all kinds of extras, free games, and it would automatically back up whatever games you had been playing, totally automatically!!! I hear Harmonex is taking the time to maintain some of the old servers, that remains to be seen. But, I bought a brand new PS4, spent upwards of $400 to get it, struggled with it for over a month, constantly trying customer support for help, never got thru. So, I gave it away, went and bought me a NEW PS3 that will now be my gaming system, that I again can enjoy. For me that’s what it is all about, ENJOY!!!!! If by chance Sony decides to reek more havoc on PS3, then that too, will be leaving, and I will no longer be a Sony customer!!! By the way other Sony products I own are, 2 60″ TV’s, A 1000 watt amplifier, a receiver, a complete surround sound system, a 200 watt sub-woofer, 2 nice towers, numerous add-on controllers for PS, and a few more items I am probably overlooking because I take them for granted!! All this stuff will hit the door, trash, or whatever, if Sony decides to mess with the PS3 system and it’s other software, add-ons anymore for me!!!! I am truly unhappy with the current Sony/PlayStation decision makers! They are ruining a GREAT thing, when they went from Ps3 to Ps4 !!! What are they thinking !!!! CONGRATULATIONS Sony, you have rediscovered the best way to get rid of dedicated customers!!!!

This is my third count it third Ps3 My last two were serviceable but not great. My Last two systems were the super fat model systems, first one the disc drive died and overheated, second one overheated and blinking light of death. So i;d thought i’d try out the super slim models i originally wanted to get the limited edition “God Of War Super Slim Bundle” but it was near six hundred dollars, and i am not paying six hundred bucks on a ps3. I Spent the last several days uploading my games to the hard drive and started playing games and watching movies immediately, I was able to watch all my 3D based Blu-rays such as “Captain America: the Winter Soldier 3D” and “Spongebob Movie 2: Sponge out of Water 3D” and the 3D looks great! for some reason it just looks much better when play through the super slim system the only problem i have with system really is the “Youtube tv app” its really annoying annoying on my last two systems the app immediately connects to your youtube account, this one made subscribe to all of my channels again and i can’t access my favorites or my liked videos that youtube app needs to be fixed. All in all the system is great and it works Beautifully.

The product did not come in the play station 3 box as shown. It did not come with any paperwork nor a manual as described. I’m not really sure if it’s what I am paying for but I don’t have time to return and look for another.

This is more for the seller or the status of my console… Anyway, it’s a working system. Wasn’t expecting much but I knocked it down the first star since the buttons on the controller it came with are sticky. Not like dirty, but it’s difficult to press them in like there’s something inside. Anyway, minus one star for the poor quality of the controller. It’s cool, I won’t need it. Ordered a 3rd party controller. The second reason it lost a star is that it came with the wrong hdd Tray and the hard drive it came with was loose. Like, the screws, which were 2 sizes for some reason, didn’t actually tighten. When I switched it for the 2.5 solid state drive I ordered I couldn’t tighten the screws. It’s in there now as loose as the one it came with was. It’s cool, I ordered a new hdd Tray here for the super slim.
I keep saying “it’s cool” because I was really just looking for a working console and this thing works. Just wish it came with a fully working controller and the correct hard drive tray. I don’t even mind the scratches, the missing Playstation branded screw over the hard drive tray, or the missing rubber feet things over the bottom screws.
TLDR. System works, poor quality controller, hard drive tray was wrong size so the hard drive is loose but functional. Set your expectations, but it’s still a working ps3. Had it for 2 days so far BTW.

I got the console a couple days ago and will follow up on this review as needed. Im a gamer so i will put on long hours on this thing. Iv been downloading games last few hours both from store and now from a disc upload to test the functionality. I plan on turboing tomorrow in Battlefield 4 to make sure I can keep a game uploaded without crashing for hours straight as my next test. Everything seems good so far with 4 hours of straight usage. The system is super quiet and isnt heating up. The one thing is controller is broken. I docked it a star for that and not more because I have 4 other controllers and this isnt the reason I bought the system. But only the analog and dpad work, none of the buttons. Dont advertise a controller if you dont have one so people that need both know to order a controller as well from a separate vendor…

We have been getting reverse compatible PS3s but have had terrible luck with the Ps3 portion as it stopped working on 2 different systems. Wife plays just about every day and this system has performed flawlessly, We still have the old reverse compatible to play our PS and PS2 games. All is well and the force is with us.
